MSC Launches New South America-Middle East Route: Faster Refrigerated Cargo Shipping

Publish Time: 2025-10-05     Origin: Site

Starting from October, MSC Mediterranean Shipping will launch a new direct route to the Middle East. Abu Dhabi will become the core transshipment hub of this route, and Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai and Shekou in China are within the scope of the calling ports.

The biggest highlight of this route is that it is specifically optimized for the refrigerated goods exported from South America to the Persian Gulf market. Whether it is fresh produce, food or temperature-controlled goods, they can all enjoy a faster and more stable transportation service through the new route.

The transportation timeliness is also quite remarkable: it only takes 33 days to reach Abu Dhabi; it takes about 38 days to reach Shuwaikh Port; and it takes about 39 days to reach Hamad Port.

The expected calling ports are as follows:

Buenos Aires – Rio Grande – Itajai – Navegantes – Paranagua – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Walvis Bay – Abu Dhabi – Singapore – Qingdao – Busan – Ningbo – Shanghai – Shekou – Singapore – Colombo – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Paranagua – Itapoa – Itajai – Buenos Aires.

For South American exporters and Middle Eastern importers, this means that the supply chain response speed is further improved, and the intercontinental transportation is more competitive.
